Third-party costs such as court and registration fees are listed with each service. How we charge

Fixed. Agreed first. Never by the hour.

Every job has a fixed fee, agreed in writing before any work starts.

There is no hourly billing and no percentage of the estate, so the price does not grow while you wait.

If a job takes longer than expected, that is Aaron’s cost, not yours.

Three documents, explained

What changes when you have one.

Without a will, a power of attorney or a plan for probate, the law decides who acts, who inherits and how long it all takes. Choose a document to see the difference.

Choose a document

Without a will

  1. The intestacy rules decide who inherits

A fixed legal list, not your wishes. An unmarried partner has no automatic right to anything and step-children are not included.

  2. Nobody has been named to act

Your family must apply to deal with the estate. If there are children under 18, nobody has been chosen to look after them, so the court decides.

  3. It often takes longer

Disagreements are more likely when nothing was written down, and disagreements cause delay.

With a will

  1. You choose who inherits

In the shares you decide, including step-children, a partner, friends or charities.

  2. You name the people in charge

Executors to deal with the estate, and guardians for children.

  3. Signed within two to three weeks

    2 to 3 weeks

Drafted in plain English, witnessed properly, and kept where your family can find it.

from£350+ VAT Wills

Without one

  1. Nobody can act for you

If capacity is lost, not even a spouse can deal with your bank, your home or your care.

  2. Your family applies to the Court of Protection

To be appointed as your deputy. It takes months, has its own fees, and comes with ongoing supervision.

  3. Everything waits

Bills, accounts and care decisions sit in limbo in the meantime.

With one

  1. You choose your attorneys while you are well

Money and property, health and care, or both.

  2. Drafted and signed within two weeks

8 to 10 weeks to register

Then registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. GOV.UK says registration takes 8 to 10 weeks if there are no mistakes in the application, so it pays not to wait.

  3. It waits, unused, until it is needed

Then your attorneys can act for you.

from£550+ VAT Powers of attorney

The usual worry

  1. A bill that grows

Some firms and banks charge probate by the hour or as a percentage of the estate, so nobody knows the final figure until the end.

  2. A different voice each call

Papers passed between people who are reading them for the first time.

  3. Months of not knowing where things are

The grant, the tax, the accounts: each one a separate conversation.

Here

  1. A fixed fee, agreed in writing first

Never a percentage of the estate. If it takes longer than expected, that is Aaron’s cost.

  2. One named solicitor throughout

From the first call to the final estate accounts.

  3. The grant only, or the whole estate

GOV.UK says the grant usually arrives within 12 weeks of applying

You decide how much of it you want Aaron to do.

Aaron Johnson, Consultant Solicitor and TEP

I believe legal planning should feel straightforward, not stressful. That's why I handle everything personally, from our first conversation through to the final signature. No hand-offs, no jargon, no surprises.

I'm a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), which means I bring specialist expertise in inheritance tax, trusts, and estate planning. But I explain everything in plain English, because that's what you deserve.

Every matter is on a fixed fee. You'll always know what you're paying before you commit. And if something takes longer than expected, that's my responsibility, not yours.
